The mission of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) Information Resource (MOFAIR) Centre is to provide an institutional management platform for the physical and electronic convergence of MOFA’S information/knowledge resources as well as serve as a conduit to relevant global information resources for present and future generations

The primary objective is to provide food for the mind in the form of information/knowledge thus when utilised effectively, will ultimately ensure food security The second objective of the MOFAIR Centre is to ensure easy, rapid access and effective dissemination of information by institutionalizing the management of especially indigenous information or knowledge through a central management system given the right standards and equipment. The potential of the MOFAIR Centre to supply the platform for the CONVERGENCE of the Ministry's information resources otherwise scattered in mostly inaccessible places at the various departments, units, and projects of MOFA is of high merit. It is also to provide an easily recognisable ONE-STOP-SHOP physical and electronic location for reliable, easy and rapid access to appropriate indigenous and global information resources
EXPECTED OUTPUT
Improved knowledge/information management through the sustained development of an electronic corporate memory for MOFA. Informed, sound and rapid decision-making owing to the virtual access to knowledge banks. Development an Information/knowledge Management Policy for MOFA Elimination or drastic reduction in duplication and replications of activities through the promotion of collective awareness A national repository/warehouse for agricultural and related information for present and future generations. Agricultural Investment Advisory. (Suggested by Minister of MOFA) Development of customized or tailored information services and products to satisfy the information needs of special target groups (e.g. illiterate farmers, academia, research and business community etc.) as well as for translations. Direct, reliable and timely access to the internal information resources of MOFA and other agricultural institutions in Ghana and around the World Promotion of the democratic right to information(public) by breaking the myth of “personalization” of public information through the institutionalization of the management of information resources. Conducive environment for the promotion and possible documentation of conferences, meetings, seminars, workshops, symposia, training and continue/lifelong learning (update) programs. Also good venue for reading, research, discussions extra-curricula activities etc. Elimination of ambiguity and frustration suffered by information seekers via the creation of a platform for the convergence of information services, products and information related personnel of MOFA. A ONE-STOP Shop/Centre tailored to satisfy the information needs of clients by facilitating easy and rapid access to domestic and global information resources regardless of time, distance or location given the right standards and equipment.
